Shaky Hands During Presentation?!

Question: Okay. I need to read my report to the class tomorrow, and I usually get very nervous before, and during my presentation. The report is short (about 10 sentences) but my hands shake alot when I am holding my paper. I know I don't have a problem because it is just nerves, but do you have any techniques of how to make that shaking stop or be less severe?

I can certainly sympathize with you. Been there...many times. I've found that the only thing that has ever helped me, to not be so nervous, while giving a presentation, is to REALLY know what I am talking about. That's the only way that you can be really confident giving a presentation. See if you could, perhaps, add something to it, that is especially interesting, or, even humorous. Find somebody in your audience, that you can look at while you're speaking, that you feel comfortable with (a friendly face). But, seriously, if you have your presentation memorized, you'll be just fine...you'll see!

you could hold notecards instead of paper... the shaking will be less noticeable... try that

A multivitamin that include the B vitamin complex may help some.

Breath deeply, bring your energy somewhere else besides your hands, focus and visualize on the positive parts of the speech. Think "whats the worst that could happen", not too many bad things that could happen while reading 10 sentences. So yeah, focus your energy somewhere else besides your hands, if not, just try to memorize your speech, and use Q-cards with reminder words just in case you forget certain parts. Hope this helps
