Foot and leg cramps?!
Question: I keep getting foot cramps in my heel and arch.
I also get really bad leg cramps in the middle of my sleep that go away after about a minute. I play basketball. Is there anything I can do to make them go away?

Jess, your leg cramps may be due to dehydration (drink at least 8 glasses per day and keep count),or to low levels of potassium and/or a deficiency in vitamin B Complex (especially B12). It sounds like you are working out and stretching enough, so there must be something else that is causing the cramps. I used to get painful cramps until I started eating a diet rich in potassium and taking Vitamin B Complex. If your cramps do not resolve with those supplements, then go see a doctor.
Here is some more info from the Mayo Clinic (www.mayoclinic.com):
A muscle cramp is an involuntary, sustained tightening (contraction) of one or more of your muscles. It can result in intense pain and an inability to use the affected muscles. Night leg cramps are contractions of the leg muscles, usually in the back of the lower leg (calf). They often occur just as you're falling asleep or just as you're waking up.
The exact cause of night leg cramps isn't known. Some experts believe they may be due to abnormal processing of electrolytes
