Answers: Does Tylenol help with stomach pains????? I am having intense pains right now.

Tylenol was not made for stomach pains. Tylenol can cause very serious liver damage if taken too much. A total of 4 grams or 4000 mgs. a day is the max.

I worked at the hospital where the first patient died from an overdose. Took away that feeling that acetaminophen was harmless. He died of liver failure 5 days later. Once it got into his blood stream, he was a dead man. At the time, there were no antidotes. We actually thought it was funny that he would try Tylenol as something to overdose on.

Are you taking other meds on an empty stomach? That could cause the cramping you describe. You have to eat something like a piece of toast then take your meds.

If that doesn't work, try a little Mylanta or Maalox. If THAT doesn't work, go see your MD ASAP!

ADDENDUM added after reading other responses:

Do NOT use aspirin products or any anti-inflammatory meds like Advil, Aleave, Motrin, and anything else labeled an NSAID drug. They are sure to cause more stomach problems. They like to start ulcers and such.

BTW: Bayer is nothing but aspirin. Read labels and if you see "ASA", or "acetylsalicylic acid", that IS aspirin.

its a good pain killer, but it will constipate you, so it really depends on whats causing the stomach pain.

It should. Dr's prescribe it for everything.

I use Ibuprofen for everything. Tylenol is good too, but it just doesn't seem to work as well for me.

no...try either pepto bismol, milk of mag, mylanta or something for gas.....tylenol is best used for fever, advil for pain, aleive for joint pain

I would stay away from pain relievers. These damage your stomoch so if your stomoch is messed up in the first place they make things worse.

You need to explain what kind of pains or the cause of the pain before I can recommend anything.

You may try sipping Milk ( if you aren't allergic to it) because they helps many things. That's basically what Antacids are.

You will more likely want to tell a Doctor your problems if this persist for over 24 hours and they might give you something coated or with coating.

I think Bayer has some products not as bad on the stomoch. But with all Pain Relievers you really need to eat food like a Peanut Butter Sadnwich, Meat, or Milk.. something more difficult to break down so your body will absorb things better and not in a quick single shot,.. this also coats your stomoch.

See your Dr.
