How long after a knee scope can you bend your knee?!

Question: I had a knee scope done December the 18th and I am still on crutches with the brace. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I can now start physical therapy, but my fist session doesnt start for another two weeks. The doc also said the bone that they had to cut and move wasnt complely healed yet. I was just wondering if I could bend my knee now (i can bend it about one inch right now, it has a really tight feeling) or if I should not attempt it. I figured that they would try to bend it at physical therapy and I know it is going to hurt like crazy, but I figured I might try before then.

In a simple scope, there isn't any bone cut...only rough edges of the mensicus are shaved. If there is some indication that you may have had bone cut, I would ask your doctor more specific questions because it's obvious you had something more extensive. Otherwise, simple scopes can begin bending right away. Please contact your surgeon.
