What's healthier? Sleeping closer to the ground or being higher up?!

Question: For example, would it be healthier to sleep on a matress on the floor [no frame] or a regular bed, frame and everything, raised a couple feet off the floor?
Does it even matter?

Sleeping in a close proximity to the ground is not much different than sleeping in an elevated position, yet it is the difference of the bed frame that makes all the difference. A bed frame can serve to give support to the mattress that the ground cannot provide, or may even provide a cushion to body weight, or initial pressure placement (as evident in spring mattresses).

Mattreses and box springs are designed specifically to float suspended above the floor. Putting them directly on the floor limits their ability to function properly, and can decrease their life span. Bed frames, on the other hand, serve to either provide a spaced mattress base, or alow springs to maintain the mattress balance.

While it is just as suitable to sleep on the ground, many people also consider bed frames to be convenient because it allows them to be able to stand up from their bed, or sit up in an upright position on their own bedside. While rising from a low position on the ground is much tougher, a bed frame adds simplicity to allow people to rise much more easily.

Lastly, bed frames can provide storage space below the bed, keep things that can rool around on the floor from going onto the bed (anything from pets to bugs and stuff), and can even provide more fashion decor for the room as well.

As to the point of which one is healthier, it is a very minor difference, so whichever one suits you should be just fine.

Hope this helps! ; D

i don't think it matters. people just like mattress frames because it is easier to stand up from them.
