This is really hard - it is so difficult to give up smoking - well done for doing it!!

You're right that many people take it out on their partners - I would suggest you talk to your partner about this and ask for some extra support, tell them how much they mean to you and apologise in advance if you are a bit ratty.

Drink plenty of water and try sipping sweet fruit juice (or sweet tasting drinks if you want to avoid sugar) this is scientifically proven to help with craving the cigs.

There is nothing wring with getting more help too - have you tried patches - free on NHS? The doctor might have more advice and sometimes provides counselling, which you might not need but gives more support. You could also try hypnotherapy?

Most of all, keep focusing on the positive - how great it is that you've given up. Be kind to yourself, and keep thinking of how your health will improve - and how much money you're saving!!!

Good luck!

do you feel really tired and just dont wanna do anything
cuz i wuit and i feel really tried and drowsy

have a *** that should make you feel better

stay busy.
get busy busy busy.
stay occupied.

have a f@g. Don't let the anti smoking nazis get to you.

Today is my 24th day without a smoke and I felt the same way...mine went away but now I seem to talk a lot and snack a lot!!!
I think everybody goes through stages but I feel happy that I am doing something good for myself!!

My doctor prescribed a medication called Chantix for me. It helped me quit more gradually and eased the side effects of quitting. I highly recommend it. I also agree about staying active. You know how you used to end a task with a cigarette as a little "reward," so to speak? For example, I know that when I'm done cleaning my kitchen, I will sit and have a cigarette. It's something to look forward to. Help yourself get over the lack of reward by replacing it with something else. What else do you really like to do? I'll either chat on the phone or go for a walk (or both at the same time!) or something else I like to replace the reward feeling I used to get. I also started needle-point and pearl/bead stringing to occupy my fingers while I'm watching TV.

Good luck!!!

Most people are just plain irritable when they quit! If there is nothing else that you can think of that would make you feel this way, then I'm sure it's your body's reaction to the lack of the cigarettes. This is not a forever thing. Explain to your partner that you are experiencing these feelings, but they will pass.
If he loves you, he will deal with that knowledge and should be happy about it since you have made this choice to stop smoking. It's never easy and you will have mood swings and such, but as I said...IT WILL PASS!
Hang in there. Sometime here in the near future you will be your old self again without a cigarette in your hand!

Best Wishes,
Diane

Craving is a normal reaction when you give up smoking. You should get over it in a couple of weeks. Keep yourself busy or get out. The worst thing you can do is sitting around idly feeling sorry for yourself. Be proud you gave it up. Go even as far as regarding your self superior to those poor b*****ds who are still captive to the vice. After a while you will realise what a bad smell they leave on your clothes, hair and even your undies. Once you have been without the fags for some time, don't fool yourself that you've got over them, because you will start again in no time. Good Luck

Go to get some Tea (not tea bag, powder, but tea leaves), chew them in your mouth, it will stop your craving! It is tea - it will not hurt you, but keep you sober and calm down.
