Puncture wound has a lump under it?!
Question: 3 days ago the blade from the food processor stabbed into my hand - it's about a quarter inch puncture wound. now today I have a hard lump under and next to the wound - what is this? crystallized blood maybe?

I had an angiogram - where they puncture your femoral artery and run a camera to your heart - the end of October. I still have two lumps under the skin at the wound site. They are blood clots and your body will eventually absorb them. The size of mine has lessened, but they are still there. You should also have some bruising and tenderness, though no red streaks or pus. With either of these see medical care immediately!
Do not lance it as that may complicate matters. If you are still concerned go see your doctor. :)
God I hope it's not MRSA (staph infection). Just went through a bad case of it myself. Get thee to a doctor pronto! Don't wait for us yahoos to diagnose you.

I would lance it myself and squeeze it to see if it's infected. If it isn't and it stays constant in size, color, and there is no pain I personally wouldn't worry about it. If you are at all concerned or it is infected a trip to the doctor is advised.
