Sleep Trouble?????!

Question: My body works on strange sleep cycles. I'm a 13-year old girl. For a few weeks in a row, I'll lay awake in my bed untill well after midnight. The next few weeks, I'll fall asleep late and have very broken sleep. Just this past week, I've been unable to fall asleep untill late, I'll have very broken sleep, and I'll wake up early (my body will automatically). All day, I feel out of it because I can never get enough sleep. What is my problem, and how can I fix it?

Are you go to bed when you body tells you to or when the clock does?
I'm 33 and have the same problem. Stress is the source of my problem, but you might be different. Any type of anxiety will make sleeping a chore.
Another factor might be going to sleep with the TV on. Try turning it off and you might eliminate some of the periods of broken sleep. If these don't work consult your family doctor for better advice.
Good luck to ya!

Well, this is just to check......

Are you sleeping with lights on?

If you're, then the light could be the source of your problem because it prevents the production of melatonin (a hormone secreted by the pineal gland, to induce sleep in you and to control your sleep-wake cycle).

Production of melatonin is at its best and highest when you're in total darkness.

So, switch off all lights, pull on all the curtains and close all slits that light can pass thru......and sleep.........

You'd be surprised how your sleep improves.

Also, don't put any electronic gadgets (e.g. cell phones, iPod.....) near your bed while sleeping because the electronic smog that's been emitted, can interupt with your sleep.

Remove them and place them outside your bedroom, if possible.
