Does anyone know why I'm aching so much?!

Question: I have Hashimoto's thyroidism AND Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome, just lately I have been having problems with numbness in my fingers, and my legs and arms have felt very achy and uncomfortable, almost like I just want to take them off if I could. Now my back is aching so bad I feel sick to my stomache. Does anyone know if these are symptoms of something else, or side effects of my thyroid or anything else? It just feels terrible, everything aches so much I can't relax or get comfortable, it really is a miserable feeling! Help!

POS can lead to someting called fibromyalgia. It is overstimulation of the nearve endings, and can cause acheing, tenderness in specific points (such as lower back, and knee caps, and chest), nasua, and numbness. See your primary as soon as possible. Fibromyalgia is treatable, I have had it for a few years. It really hurts, but the sooner you start treating it, the better off you'll be.
some stuff to consider:
1. Recent weight gain?
2. Depression? even a little
3.achne?
4. the POS can cause nasia, but is it a really weird stomach upset? like someone is folding your stomach.
5.Hyper-sensitivity to touch? when I was first diognosed, whenever someone touched me, it felt like a knife.

I feel your pain (literally). I truely hope you feel better soon.

Best of luck.

If you also have a fever and cough, you probably have the flu or a cold. Usually Hashimoto's won't cause all over body aches, and PCOS doesn't do it, either.

Sweetheart u need to go to the doctor and find out what it is.Don't take the word of anyone on here.If it only last aday or two then it could be a virus. I would seek out a doctor tomorrow.Good luck and Merry Xmas

use some baby oil

Polycystic Syndrome can lead to diabetes, which can, if untreated, cause nerve ending damage and subsequent pain. I would get your fasting blood sugar checked ASAP. Since you have some health issues, it is possible you have Rheumatoid Arthritis or Fibromyalgia. I suffer from RA; so I sincerely hope not. I really don't think it's the flu

I agree with MB. It does sound like Fibromyalgia. There is no specific test for Fibro but, they do bloodwork and some other tests to rule out other problems. You should get a referral to a Rheumatologist to be diagnosed.

If it is Fibro there is treatment available. It can take a while to find the right combination of things to help you feel better. If you want to find out more about Fibro or talk to some people who have it we would welcome you in our Support Group:
