Knuckle injury from punching?!

Question: I punched my classmate in his head (in the skull) yesterday because i was irritated from him.

And know my knuckle (index finger) is having pain when i bend in upwards, push it down with pleasure, or when i move it away from the other fingers.

What possible treatments can i do? and how long is it?

this will affect my drumming so i'd like to have this treated asap.

Ah. The Classic 'Boxer's Fracture'. Most likely in your metacarpal bone joining the digits and the rest of your hand.

At the doctors, they'll put a cast on the affected arm. Ask for a real plaster cast, synthetic ones are extra-itchy. It will take 6 -8 weeks to heal completely.

How do I know? I have done this no less than 3 times.

The trick is to hold your fist loosely when you punch somebody. And remember to punch the weakest spot on their face, the bridge of the nose or in the eye socket - maximum damage for minimum of injury to you.

Better yet: learn to hit people with your hand without using a fist, the stereotypical karate-chop, the palm strike, the jaw upper-cut. If you're REALLY angry, trying using something other than your hands.

Remember: Revenge is a dish best served cold!

tap the tip of your finger, if it hurts. you might have broken it.
hospital, buddy. If your hands are your livelyhood, keep them to yourself...
