My ma's feet have recently started to smell, really bad.?!

My ma's feet have recently started to smell, really bad.?
She is 62, and had normal, clean feet, all her life. But just in the last 2 weeks, they have began to pong.
She wears sandals, and cleans her feet everyday.
Is there a cause for this, and anything she can do

could be a fungal infection so solution clean and buy an antifungal foot cream or powder can be gotten rid of but one has to follow it up thoroughly itd be better if a doctor prescribed something rather than you going over the counter
