Answers:

Hey, I once wore a Holter Monitor too!

It's essentially a portable EKG (or ECG - electrocardiograph). It records the tiny, tiny voltages produced as your heart beats. The time between peaks will give your heart rate, plus the shape of the wave can indicate heart defects. You are asked to keep a diary of your activities too, right? That's just to check that some unusually high or low rate isn't explained by a change in physical exertion (for example, my heart rate shot to 170 beats per minute when I climbed the 4 flights of stairs to my apartment).

The good report should reassure you that there is nothing physically wrong. Your doctor might suggest relaxation techniques or mild exercise (walking). I was given Inderal (propranolol) to reduce my heart rate, but I quit because it made my hair thin and gave me edema in the legs.
