Why do I have a dry cough when lying down?!
Question: Why do I have a dry cough when lying down?
I caught what I assume is a cold 3 weeks ago, within a week of getting sick (cough, runny nose, headache, lost my voice) I was fine but it seems to have doubled back. I'm not coughing much (just at night, esp. when lying in bed in a position that constricts my chest, such as on my side) and I'm starting to lose my voice again (which sucks, esp. when you're a teacher!).
I'm not coughing anything up but when I go through an external temperature change my body temperature goes nuts. I'm cool indoors and far too hot out (I live in the desert).
Is it a cold, infection, what?

Answers:
Maybe walking pneumonia. I went through two rounds of antibiotics. Started with a sore throat and runny nose and headache and went into a non-stop dry hacky cough. Felt like crap too. No energy. Took a round of doxycycline and a round of Zithromax (Z pak). It lasted about 8 weeks with me. I think the sooner you get the antibiotics, the better.
I have something similiar. It takes some time to get normal. But you should go to the doctor! ;)
