First off make sure that you are sitting upright. If you are wheezing when you inhale and not when you exhale it is because you have an upper airway obstruction. This is a common side effect from excess mucus production from a cold. Make sure that you are drinking plenty of fluids and try taking a mild non-steriodal anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen (Advil) to relieve and swelling that you might be having in your throat. If your symptoms intensify then I urge you to let your parents know and to consult your physician. I hope you feel better soon!
Well if it is a dry cough and u are not coughing anything up u need to loosen the mucus. First do not lay flat, sounds like u need some cough med, mucinex is good or Robitussinin. Go make yourself a cup of hot tea and drink it as hot as u can stand it if u don't have tea hot water is fine. U can put some honey or lemon in it. Mentholatum is good to rub on chest. If this doesn't get any better u need to see the doc.
It sounds like you could have a chest infection. It can be hard to breath when you have one because of a build up of mucus on the chest
