It could be a stye that has become infected, go see a doctor and get a weeks worth of antibiotics.
It could possibly be a sty. Do you wear a lot of eye makeup? If so, it could block your tear duct which is the main cause of a sty. If it looks something like this, it's a sty:

Stys are blocked tear ducts that can be treated by waiting it out (most ineffective), or by buying an over-the-counter treatment which help stop the symptoms. A good homemade treatment I figured out was to put coffee (yes, coffee--the grounded coffee beans), and put it over the sty. It helps to stop swelling and works to heal it faster. If not, it's time to visit a doctor, as sometimes stys can grow into infections and do much harmful things.
Do you get them often or is it your first time? I usually get them once a month, but that's because I'm prone to them. :P
Good luck and I wish you the best(:
An external stye is an infection of the sebaceous glands of Zeis at the base of the eyelashes, or an infection of the apocrine sweat glands of Moll. External styes form on the outside of the lids and can be seen as small red bumps.(wikipedia)
Maybe it is this? xx
Report this to your doctor, or simply, visit an ophthalmologist.
The symptoms and signs you provided are not yet sufficient to provide you with a diagnosis.
I hope I could help :)
