I'm pretty posative that the age is 18, but check with a doctor because every doctor has different requirements, some make you go through a certain amount of therapy and make you live life as a male for a certain amount of time.
and confronting your parents can be hard, but sitting them down and talking to them is the best way to do it. tell them how you feel about them supporting you and how much it would mean to you, and tell them how you feel like your in the wrong body and was given the wrong gender, and if they love you hopefully they will understand and support you, and you can also start by asking them if they are comfortable with calling you he instead of she and calling you by your male name wich you also will have to come up with a name, and my advise for that is to think of something that was popular around the time you were born and something similar to you birth name, my girl name was Amanda Jade and now I'm Aden Jay or Aj. hope that helps and if you need more info find me on facebook under ajisahotmale@hotmail.com
