My boyfriend is overly sleeping and it's affecting our relationship?!

Question: My boyfriend is overly sleeping and it's affecting our relationship?
My boyfriend has been coming home and falling asleep at about 7 p.m and won't wake up till 6:25 for work in the morning. He snores a lot and very loud. This episode tends to come in a cycle. First it starts with overly sleeping then it'll turn into not being able to fall asleep and then everything is fine and the snoring decreases. Then the cycle will start back up again. He isn't overweight for his height and he works as a mechanic but they haven't been busy busy for him to come home and be tired. It won't take anything for him to just lay down on the sofa and not even 10 minutes later he is dead asleep. He is a heavy sleeper and will not even hear anything. I can slam the door on purpose and not even a flinch. I don't know what to do for him and for us as a couple. I am getting really annoyed and not to mention how couple time has been dramatically dwindled. He is not on drugs if anyone is wondering. Has anyone experienced this or knows someone that has? What do you suggest is going on and/or what can be done about this? Thanks!

Perhaps he needs more energy enzymes from more fruit and vegetables so he won't need so much sleep.

Sleep apnea is certainly another possibility.

He should see a doctor, he might have sleep apnea. You need not be overweight to have it, it is just more common if you're overweight. Before I was diagnosed with it, I had a physical job, and would come home from work, sit down on the floor to take off my shoes, and fall asleep with one shoe off. I'm betting on apnea, or some other disorder or illness. Doctor time.

Visiting a professional sleep specialist is really great idea ! However you may try some kind of online what kind of snorer am I questionnaires for example like: http://snoringremediescenter.com/ one on this site.

Such questionnaires can basically determine what is the type of your snoring and give some advice which snoring remedies are more likely to work for you. If this questionnaire tells that you do have sleep apnea than your bf has to visit a doctor by all means.
