why do i always get a bruise after blood tests?!
Question: Why do i always get a bruise after blood tests?
no one else i know ever gets a half dollar sized bruise after having a blood test and yet i do.
i do have poorly visible veins that get worse when i'm dehydrated but i don't think thats the problem cuz they don't have to prick me several times. they're good enough that they get it in one try all the time.
i don't have anemia either and don't otherwise bruise extremely easy.
and i leave the bandage on for a little while even though i'm always told it only has to stay on for 10 minutes to avoid bruising.
so why the heck do i always get a bruise after blood tests?

It's because the needle is breaking your blood vessels and the dead blood vessels turn purpley. Your nurse might jam it in further or harder.
