why do they bury people with their hands on their stomach ?!

Maybe it’s just a natural position? Sometimes in bed when I can't fall asleep my hands seem to move and rest on my stomach.
Or maybe because in social situations women were instructed to rest their hands neatly in their lap.
Or maybe its like when putting your hands together to pray. The hands wouldn't be able to stay right (when dead) so they rest them on the stomach.
Or maybe so a loved one can easily rest a hand on theirs (which would be hard if they were down the sides). I had a friend that died in highschool and when it was my turn to go up and say goodbye and I laid my hand on his for a moment, and yes, I saw other do this as well, and Ive been to two others where Ive seen this as well

I suppose it's to make them look more natural and at a peaceful rest thus giving more comfort to the family and those grieving.

I'm not quite sure, but I always assumed that it is a link to God since that's how you'd fold your hands when praying. But, that's just an educated guess:P
