The pain itself could be just a strained back muscle. The heaviness can be related to the strained back muscle in that the strained back muscle is stiff/sore.
The ideal thing to do is to go get checked by your doctor. But if you don't really want to do that, then just try to stretch your back out by laying on your stomach and arching your back backwards so you are looking at the ceiling. You can also hang from a pull up bar to relieve some tension in your spinal cord (in case you have a bulging disc). If the pain persists for more than a week and does not get better, go get yourself checked out by a professional.
