How to get rid of constipation?!


Question: How to get rid of constipation!?
I've never really been constipated before and Im only 23, although im sure eating a massive load of bread over a short few days started this off in the first place and in future im going to follow all the anit-contipation guides so hopefully this doesn't happen again!.

Anyway, I've not been able to go to the toilet for about 6 days now (not long compared to some people i know) however Im sure i want to go, but my muscles are just not doing the pushing properly or cannot give enough push!. Im not in any pain and even when i try to go to the toilet I only have a small discomfort!. I've tried that Cali-fig stuff, stool softener and the X-lax choc bar things (at this point I seem laxative immune) although im not sure why, as I've never taken them before!. Im eating all the right things (fibre and such) drinking lots of fruit juice and water and moving around and still nothing!.

Is there something im missing or should I just wait it out!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

ok you can take laxatives but thats not the answer you may need to look at your diet and the amount you drink ie lots of water etc also gental exersise, you can also try somthing like soft eating prunes of dried apricots to keep snacking they are good at helping the bowels!. if this does not sort its self out go talk to the doctor or practice nurse they will help you, dont be embaressed most people suffer with it at some time in there lifesWww@Answer-Health@Com

If you're not in any pain, i'm not sure what you're concerned about!. Still, i think you're lucky NOT to be in any!.!. Most people start cramping after 5 days!.!.!.

What really works wonders is Miralax, which is an OTC drug!. It's used for chronic constipation, though, which you haven't indicated you have!. Still, you can always refer back to it and use it as needed!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If in another 48 hours you still haven't done - take an enema (a Fleet is ok, but a proper one with about a litre of water is better)!. And then get a doctor's appointment - a sudden cessation of bowel function is not to be taken lightly, he may recommend a colonoscopy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

To be honest to solve the whole problem and do a nice big healthy poooo!.
- drink lots of water!.
- fruit and vegetables
- and go for a 20 min walk when you can, seriously straight after you will need to gooo, cos it makes movement in the bowels :)
- lay on your back and roll your knees up against your tummy!.

Aviod taking any of these laxatives, as they just solve the problem short term, don't wanna get the runs!!!

Drink warm water!. Add fiber to your diet and never forget your water!. Eight full glasses a day!. Everyday!. The warm water should rid your immediate problem!. Although it might take a little time and moe than one glass!. Warm water usually does it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take a pint glass and fill it half way with cranberry juice add a tablespoon of baking soda , stir, it will foam drink it down and don't go anywhere for awhileWww@Answer-Health@Com

Get yourself a big bag of grapes and just go to town on them! Seriously, grapes, oranges, any kind of fruit really, will help get you going again!. Squatting also helps too - put your hands on your hips and just bring yourself up and down about 10-20 times!. Drink plenty of water and eat lots of fibre-y foods!.

If you're in the UK, there's these things I tried once and they really helped but I'm not sure if they still make them!. They're called Ortisan Fruit Cubes and you can get them in health food shops!. They taste awful but if you can put up with it then they do work, but only have a quarter or half of one because they can be quite strong! If not, go into your health food shop and just ask them what they have for constipation because stuff in there is more likely to help you than any laxatives!.

I'd stay away from laxatives, whenever I'm costipated and I take them I always end up with diarrhoea the next day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try porridge for breakfast!.
Instead of taking laxatives try Lactulose syrup!.
It is very gentle and works by increasing the water content and
volume of the stools in the bowel, making them softer and easier to pass!.
Lactulose is made up of sugar molecules and is broken down by the bacteria that live in the lower part of the gut!.
This leads to the contents of the gut becoming more acidic, which reduces the absorption of a chemical called ammonia!.
The presence of ammonia in the gut causes water to be drawn into the lower bowel!.
This increases the amount of water in the stools, softening them and making them easier to pass, thus relieving constipation!. It can take up to 48 hours for the lactulose to have an effect!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
