Your mum will be upset, however I think you should tell her sooner rather than later!. Parents have a way to cope, I think it's built in when we're born! They always make everything better (In my experience)
Tell her, and she will help you! There is no one who will love and care for you more!.
By well done for realising you need help, that's ofter the hardest part

Ask your doctor to arrange a session with a councillor!. As a child self harming you will get a priority appointment!.
Use this session to discuss the issues of how to tell your mum and when!. Say you know you need help with the self harming but you feel it's more important to bringing you mum onboard and that's what you need help with from the councillor!. I'm thinking you have a problem communicating with your mum and this, although not the whole cause, is a catalyst for you self harming and you know in yourself that opening up to your mum will start a healing process for your selfharming!.
Use the councillor service from your doctor, they're good people and you won't be the first!. Ultimately you'll be fine cos your taking the first steps to help and understanding!.
(if i'm way off base, i apologise but can only answer with the info you have given!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

From family experience the best thing to do is tell your mom you'd be surprised how much you will feel better!. It's better to tell her before she finds out from someone else!. Then maybe she can help you with it!. I wish you the best of luck and thank you for coming out, its a brave thing you did!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
The school will probably make you tell your mum so you may as well tell your mum!. You don't have to say anything, just show her!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
