Question: Why is it a bad idea to eat before going to bed!?

Your digestive system slows down during sleep so the food doesn't get broken down at the speed it normally does!. This can lead to heartburn and acid reflux!.
Also, the food is just sitting there, so the calories are not being burned off by exercise, so you are more likely to gain weight if you eat late!.
Try not eating anything within 2-3 hours of going to bed at the very latest and you should be in good shape!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

However, not eating at all before you sleep is a horrible idea, as your body still needs energy!. If you do not eat, your body will tear away at your muscles!. When you sleep, pretty much a lot of your body 'shuts down' so that it can rest and recharge, which is why you feel so great after a good night sleep!

For one you take alot longer to digest it since your body is just laying there and your not burning it off so therefore you gain weight! And I think that if you do eat before going to bed you aren't likely to be hungry when you wake up and we all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to give your body at least 2 or 3 hours to digest the food!. Otherwise if you go to bed with undigested food, it stops digesting and stagnates in your system the whole night while you sleep!. Not a good thing!.
