Question: Is this true!? bad for your health!?
I heard somewhere, that jogging/running long time/cross-country can actually be bad for your health!. Apparently because it puts the heart under stress and strain!. So, is this true!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It all depends on your age!. Your body is constantly breaking down and rebuilding!. Problem is when you get older the rebuilding slows down to the point where you eventually die!. My uncle was running in biathlons all through his sixty's and into his 70s!. He ran almost every day, for fun!. He was thin and ate low fat!. He still had high cholesterol and even took medication!. He died this spring at 72 of a stroke!. Just keep scaling back as you get older!. Physical fitness is no guarantee that you will live free of cardiovascular disease!. I actually blame the drugs and the low fat diet that everyone thinks is so healthy!.

Well if you are going to start jogging and running for the first time, then it should not be for a very long run/jog cause yes it will put the heart under strain, you need to do it little by little!. once your body gets used to it, then there is not such problem!. However, i recommend you talking with your doctor, because it depends also on your health level since you are saying long distance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'd say it has something true in it!. Although perfectly safe and healthy to do so, if you're used to an unhealthy way of living (e!.g!. eating lots of fats, not doing much exercise, overweight) and you haven't been stretching your muscles or your body before you start that "marathon" or any exercise it can be harmful not only to your heart but to your body too!. The key is gradual exercise and eating healthy to prepare your body for those long runs!. This just ensures you're doing the right thing and prevents damage to your body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it depends on how long you're running for!. i run cross country and we can run 7-8 miles a practice depending on the day and this is perfectly healthy for you!. however, i've heard that running marathons, 26 miles, can be hard for your body to endure, especially your heart!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Moderation is the key!. Anything you do in excess will put a strain in your body!. So the best thing to do is to exercise in moderation and not stress your body too much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it good for your heart but you need to build up to it or it could put strain on your body if your really unfit or have a heart condition but apart from that you should be ok it can damage your muscle and ligaments tho Www@Answer-Health@Com
