Question: Breast cancer will i have it!?
can you answer this question for me i am 13 years old and my mom had breast cancer and died at the age of 39 when i was 10!. will that mean i will have breast cancer in the furture is breast cancer gentic!? caner does run in my family Www@Answer-Health@Com

Breast cancer is fairly common anyway, so I would reccommend anyone to do a monthly self examination of their breasts!. This is talked about on this website:

Just because your Mum had it, doesn't mean you will too and if you do get it it could well be just a coincidence because it is fairly common!.
About 5% of breast cancers are genetic however, and if this is the case it means that you have 50% chance of getting breast cancer!.
The good news is that it does mean that 95% of breast cancer is not genetic, which would take your chances of getting it down to the rest of us!.
There are tests that can be done to look at your genes but I believe they are expensive, it may be worth it if their are alot of other women in the family that have it too!.
I do hope you do your self examinations, but also when you are at the Docs next, just mention your worries!. They should be able to put your mind at ease, but also put it on your medical records and you might be watched more carefully!.

Cancer is genetic up to a point!. It does not mean that it you will definitely get it!. And if you become aware of how to do regular breast self-checks, then your chances of detecting something early are much much better!.
Early detection is the key to avoiding nasty issues!.

This reminds me of what my happened to my friend!. His family had cancer, but he didn't!. I'm not so sure, but you probably don't!. Just hope for the best or ask someone who can help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
