Should I get put under (general anesthesia) for wisdom teeth removal?!
Question: Should I get put under (general anesthesia) for wisdom teeth removal!?
I'm going in tomorrow morning and I've been nervous about the anesthesia, not the procedure, for a few weeks now!. I've had a root canal done with only local anesthesia, so I was fully conscious, just numb in my mouth and it was nerve wracking but not terrible!. What did you do!? What would you recommend!? I've never been under before so I'm afraid of that!.!.!.out of control sort of feeling, I don't really enjoy being drunk or high because of that and so I'm wondering if I'll panic (I'm prone to anxiety attacks) when they try to put me under and it'd be worth it to just not bother and suck it up for 45 minutes while they pull the teeth out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It was a heck of a rough experience, so I dunno if I recommend it!.!. Are they impacted where they'll have to cut your gum open!?
I've had general done too, to set a badly broken arm!. That wasn't bad either!.!. I just fell asleep and woke up back in recovery!.!. Felt pretty much like just falling asleep!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No just some good drugs to help you relax!. I wasn't put out but had some really good meds put in me!. They said it took 2 hours for me it felt like 10 minutes!. Just make sure they give you a prescription for pain medication after you have them pulled!. You will need to for a few days but it will be OK the pain was not really that bad for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If they want to put you under let em!. Honestly, you won't even remember it!. The doc'll be like "Count backwards from 10", and by the time you hit 7 the next thing you'll remember is waking up afterwards!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Everyone is different but this is what I do when I am having dental work!.
The dentist gives me a pain med--Mephergan(sp!?) and Valium to take an hour before I go!.
Then before they start, they give me gas, once the gas mixes with the meds, you don't care what they do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

they usually put u under, but it isn't bad at all!. you will just get a shot in the arm and wake up when it's over!. much better then getting shots in the gums imo!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
All I can say is do!.!. not!.!.be!.!.awake!.!.! trust me, you don't want to be awake, you'd feel all the pressure and straining of the teeth being pulled, just without pain, it feels extremely weird, and you'd be way more likely to have a panic attack if you could feel that instead of being asleep!. Really, getting put under is not scary at all, here's what will happen:
Usually it's an IV or a syringe that they'll use, they'll stick it in your arm, you'll feel your arm go kind of tingley, then you won't feel it, then you'll be suddenly asleep!. hehe, it's extremely simple!. you'll feel quite funny after it for a little while, but it's not anything scary or bad!. you might have some weird conversations, I think I asked my mom "why we named our dog biscuit because he's a bunny rabit not a frog" !.!.!. lol!. anyway, there is really nothing to be afraid of, unless you're not getting put out, then it's scary!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
