heya

I have been ill for 8 days now and have missed a lot of school!.
I have a fever, sore throat, extreme tiredness and feeling not quite with it!.

If i am feeling better i will get up and do something no very strenuous but afterwards i am absolutely shattered and i get very hot and sweaty!.

I have been to the doctor and he said i just have a virus but a virus usually lasts for about 5 days and this is way longer than that!.

If you have had a sore throat for more than a week!. And it is accompanied by fever, archness and fatigue, or if the throat and mouth are very red or develop yellow or white spots, a bacterial infection is probably present!.

If a strep infection is the cause of the sore throat, antibiotics are prescribed to fight the infection!. And you should contact your doctor again!.

Has the doctor done a throat culture to determine if you have step throat!?

If you are school age you may not need to take regular aspirin because of the risk of Reye's syndrome!. Acetaminophen ( aspirin substitute) can be used to reduce fever!.

Drink plenty of fluids!. Warm fluids and soups are especially soothing for irritated throats!.

Gargle with salt water!. Dissolve 1/2 teaspoon salt in 8 ounces of warm water to help relieve a sore throat!. Throat lozenges or even hard candy may help soothe a sore throat!.

If you have the flu it could last for a week, but full recovery could take longer!.

Get plenty of rest and return to activity gradually!. To prevent a relapse, do not do anything strenuous!.

Try to eat nutritious foods and a balance diet!.to help regain strength!.

Your immune system will do everything it can to fight off a cold, but to help it out, you can use over-the-counter medication like decongestants, antihistamines, cough syrup and cough drops!. It's also important to drink lots of fluids, get plenty of rest and wash your hands regularly to prevent further infection!.

Well Keep a cool clothe or ice pack on your head take motrin or advill for headaches drink hot tea for sorethroat and cough drops and the tiredness there only one thing lay down and rest try to stay as warm as possible ( wven when you get realy hot its best to stay warm ) hope i can help and feel better byeWww@Answer-Health@Com

drink lots and lots of water!. or non caffinated tea if your throat hurts!. eat lots of strawberries and take zinc lozenges!. take motrin for your fever!. rest until you feel like you have enough energy to make it through the day!. eat lots of leafy greens too!. they all have essential vitamins that beat the flu!. works like a charm!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ask your doctor to check for glandular fever - that can hang on for 6 months and has the symptoms that you describe!. xxWww@Answer-Health@Com
