They are an ultrafiltrate of plasma (blood)!. As blood contains sodium (salt), so do tears!. When the plasma is filtrated to turn it into tears, not all of the sodium is reabsorbed!. Hence, tears taste salty!.
Tears do not contain urea!. They contain sodium chloride, potassium, albumin and glucose!. They also contain the immune cells lysozyme, and IgA, IgG and IgE!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
