it is a lot worse i'm afraid, but it also depends on the individual person too!. Kids always get over ops and stuff better than adults anyway,i wouldn't worry too much but you won't be getting ice-cream you have to eat proper food now!. my nephew (13) he had to eat crisps and toast,so did my daughter when she was 5, my nephew took longer to recover and a friend of mine who had hers done in her 20's took a few weeks to feel better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes - its very much worse!!!!!!

They slice the tonsil off the side of your throat, leaving a raw - open wound - the area on an adult is far bigger than on a child - it doesn't make that much difference to the number of sore throats you get either
though you di get more coughs
[in my case, blisters on trhe back of my tongue and blisters on the back of my throat catch each other - instant coughing or gagging fit]
i seriously regret opting for the op
the cons far outweigh thepros in my case [ i was 23 - now 45]Www@Answer-Health@Com

They say it is sore for grown up's !.My daughter age 6 got her's out last year the best thing too be done !.has never been unwell this year !.but they do make you eat toast you will be sore for a few week's the op only takes about 20 mins all together
good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah, cos they use a ripsaw and a hoover now, cutting edge technology if you like to call it that!. But, don't worry after you've got your voice back in 12 months time you'll forget all about it, be brave!Www@Answer-Health@Com

With modern surgical techniques and modern anaesthetics and pain relief, you have nothing to worry about!.
It's not like it was 50 years ago!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it is but at least you still get all the ice cream you can eat in hospital!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
