In some hospitals namely Catholic hospitals they have Nuns that are nurses!. Nuns are also known as sisters !. Nurses are just that, nurses and don't have to be a nun or sister!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

"sister" originates from its church-related
interpretation!. The earliest hospitals were generally extensions of churches
and other religious institutions and were then co-located within the church
compound and run as a charity by the sisters, who "nursed" the invalids!.!.!.
There was not much in terms of "medical care" as you call it, but the
origins of it perhaps!. Hand maidens were employed to help the Sisters!. These were unqualified people of little intelligence and poor hygiene!.
Florence Nightingale revolutionised Nursing by introducing training and good quality hygiene and people trained to do the job as Sister!.
These days a Senior Nurse will climb to the ranks of Sister after about four years post qualifying at university minimum!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
