I always get confused between long sited and short sited...?!
Question: Today I got a call from the local council nurse who was at my 5 year old daughters school conducting eye tests and hearing tests and was told she failed her eye test and she had to go and see an optometrist - so I took her along and she has Astigmatism and has a bit of trouble seeing distances (same as me actually) but I always forget if that is long sited or short sited and does anyone have a good way to remember which is which.

Short sighted people cant see things far away, and long sighted people cant see things close up.
Short sighted people can only see things that are a short distance away. Long sighted people however can see things that are a long way from them but struggle with things that are close to them - thus often requiring reading glasses.
