i have this flight sickness medicine called dramamine or something, its over the counter and really relaxes you
They say St. John's Wort is effective against it, if you take it everyday for like 90 days it's supposed to elevate your mood...I have no personal experience with it though, and I'm often a little skeptical of the explosion of so-called "natural cures"....
St Johns Wort is recommended but do not take it with anti depressant drugs. Really if you have serious depression you should consult your doctor
Dramamine sounds like a tranquillizer or a sedative rather than an antidepressant, but I've also heard and read about St. John's Wort. Before you start self-medicating, however, it would be wise to learn a bit about the medication--which you can do online. You could also ask your doctor what he or she thinks about St. John's Wort, but there's a good chance that Doc will ask why you think you need an antidepresssant and why you don't want a prescription one. But if he/she says that at least it won't hurt, then you've nothing to lose but the cost of some herbal pills.
Another natural antidepressant of sorts is a black, fragrant but bitter substance available in every grocery store. It's called coffee.
