Excessive Sleep?!


Question: My problem is excessive sleep. This problem has been going on for well over a couple of years.

Here's a list of relevant facts:

- I get a good amount of exercise. My job requires a lot of lifting and moving, which also provides me with a good amount of exercise.

- I regularly take multi-vitamin tablets and make sure to not consume anything detrimental to my health (i.e. beer, cigarettes, etc).

- I am not sad, gloomy or depressed. (Actually, I don't really feel anything.) I've been on several anti-depressants; none made much of a difference.

- I regularly take a prescribed stimulant for ADHD. (Shouldn't that make me less tired overall?)

- I've had blood testing done. The doctors found nothing detrimental (they actually found something positive).

All of the above, and guess what? I still sleep for 12+ hours per day!

Does anyone know what's wrong with me? I certainly don't; and I'm hopeless.

you should only sleep 6-8 hours per day.. practice waking up and limit sleep to 6-8 hours daily by alarming your clock or anything. Maybe you have Idiopathic Hypersomnia -click link to know the excessive sleep disorder http://www.worldsleepfoundation.com/Exce...

if you slepp 12+ hours a day when do u work? to me u seem normal......i just think u need some other things to do besides sleep....maybe make some friends and hang out with them......that way you'll think about other thigs besides sleeping
