I quit smoking 2 weeks ago, and today, I weighed myself. I gained 10 lbs. Is tha!

Question: I was 115 lbs but now I am 125 lbs! Daaamn! I'm getting fat! I do not like this one bit. There has been no change in my eating habits, then why is it that I am gaing weight??? Why God?? Why??? I am a model, that is how I make my living. I can't get anymore fatter or I will probably lose my jobs. If I get any more fatter, I think I will go back to smoking. Please Help! Thank you!

Ten pounds in 2 weeks is a lot. You seem to have replaced cigarettes with food. Go buy some baby carrots and cut some celery sticks. Munch on those. Also drink lots of water!
The weather is getting better, take walks. You can get a handle on the weight and not smoke! (Keep in mind smoking has chemical effects on the body, including your metabolism.)

As a former smoker who also gained when I quit, I feel your frustration. But I took the weight off and didn't revert back to cigarettes so you can too. Good going!

when my uncle quit smoking, he started eating small candies and snacks and he gained some weight. i think its normal

It is normal, maybe you should do some exercising now

i was the same way. i gained about five pounds. drank a lot of water and exercised. lost 10.

It's normal. ( pay closer attention to your eating habits, you are probably substituting cigarettes with celery or carrots.) Or anything to replace the hand to mouth action that you were doing with the cigarettes.

You've quit smoking...congratulations!

Now you have to deal with the oral fixation that goes with smoking.

Since you claim to be a model, you already know how to control your weight, and I will give you the benefit of the doubt that the methods you use are exercise and good diet.

If you HAVE to have soda...avoid the diet crap! It actually tricks the body into storing carbs as fats. Drink fruit juices from concentrate (no crystals) with an absolute minimum of additives. Always have healthy snacks handy.

Incidentally...are you 100% sure that the additional weight is all fat? If you've started a more intense exercise program recently, some of it may be muscle!

Good Luck!

P.S.: You probably *have* began to eat more, you just don't realise it, since you are used to shoving a smoke into your mouth instead of food. For the next while, up your exercise program.

My wife and I quit smoking a few years ago-for three months. We gained 45lbs each. It was the most miserable experience to date. I could taste and smell everything, horrible, I don't know how you non-smokers can stand it! I could smell my neighbors b.o. FROM NEXT DOOR! Even crap I don't like tasted good. Hey, if you can do it, good for you! As for me, NO THANKS!

it is normal it is because before when you weer smoking you smoked instead of eatin when you were bored so dont go back to smoking because eventuall yyou will get emphisema or cancer and then you will loose your job
to loose weight exercise more
