What can I make my mother for dinner to soothe her cough and sore throat?!

Question: Don't say ginger ale or anything, I want something delicious that will at leaste temporarily stop her cough. I hate to see her sick, because her sickness just depresses the whole family.

Please make it simple; I'm only 14! And not a chef!

She doesn't have any stomach troubles, just a horrendous cough and very sore throat, the doctor said it's just a sever cold, and that there's nothing she can do. She's on alot of different meds, but none seem to help.

I was thinking like soup, but she has soup alot...

first off, let me say, you seem like a wonderful person caring for your mom like that.

something hot....but not too hot. some hot tea, or soup. not too hot though. if she burns her throat, that will cause blisters and will get infected resulting in.......a sore throat. lol right where you began.

then have her eat something cold and soft. like yogurt or ice cream. the reason for this, beside it tasting good, the hot and then cold, results in the blood rushing to your throat resulting in recovery.

hope she gets better

umm i was gonna say chicken noodle soup

Maybe some hot stew...and something cold for dessert, like an ice cream sundae or Jello....

Chicken soup (canned is fine) and tea with honey and lemon. You are an angel to be helping your mom like this!

she will benefit from vitimin c, so veg- lots of fruit esp oranges, orange juice, for sore throat icecream and hunny, you cant really surpress coughing

get your mum some manuka honey or buckwheat honey
