What long term effects does the cold have on the body.?!

Question: For example someone who lived in damp cold climate and their house was not particulalry well heated...and I'm talking here about a person in their sixties.

Concerned about a retired person living on their own in a cold house. Have applied for extra heating grants but house till cold. Will the cold have a deterimantal effect oh her heart.

A relative of mine.

is probably not the best idea. the body does certain things automatically to increse the body temp when it is cold for eg shivering etc which increase metabolic rate so more heat is released to increase body temp. im not sure whether this would have an effect on their heart tho. i dont think theres like any immediate danger but it is probably better to be in a warm environment especially at the age they are, and the fact that older people seem to feel the cold more than most.

Sure is not a healthy situation. Perhaps a grant for insulation might help too?

I think it suppresses your immune system, which creates an overall weakening of the body.

You could help out your self i do for my family,
