Lump on my daughters hand? Please help?!
Question: OMG! I will warn you, I'm an overprotective mother.
Ok, so my daughter is 2. She sucks her right thumb, and it often gets sore. Ok, so I noticed earlier. And her left hand is swollen up. All around her thumb is bright red (thought she'd been playing with my eldest daughters blusher until it wouldn't come off) and I can feel a lump at the base of her thumb. It's swollen and it must be bad coz it's swollen compared to the sucked one.
What is it? She's using her hand, but it's red and really hot to touch!
HELP!
She hasn't burnt it, or banged it that I know. I can't see a bite, but am driving myself mad!

It sounds as if your daughter has a skin infection - cellulitis. she will need antibiotics.
She might have bitten it, but then the bite mark faded away! Im sure its nothing to worry about, it will be ok! If the redness doesnt go away after awhile, see the gp
