Why can't most people remember anything before around age three or four?!
Question: My first real memory is falling down the stairs at around three, but even that is fuzzy. Why can't most people remember anything from very early childhood?

Basically, for two reasons - the brain is still developing, and language is not fully developed. Memories are not encoded well in the absense of prior experience and verbal ability.
