When my brothers and I were kids and we were nauseated from flu, my parents would mix about 2-3 teaspoons of baking SODA (not baking powder) into a glass of water (6-8 ounces) and tell us "it would either settle your stomach, or make you throw up; either way, you'll feel better."

It tasted like crap, and it ALWAYS made us throw up. I think the "settle your stomach" part was just to give us a glimmer of hope that we would get some relief without throwing up.

Why exactly do u want to be sick hun? Do you have an eating disorder or think you can lose weight by doing this? Please don't try to be sick, if that is the reason. You could do your body permanent damage.

Why should we want to help you develop bulimia "skills"?

You could take too much medicine and have to throw up, smell something disgusting and throw up, eat a food you hate and throw up, eat too much food and throw up.

Why in the world would you want to know this?

If this question is in reference to trying to get yourself sick then that isn't a good idea.I don't think that that combination is true.I mean it could give you a stomach ache but, that is it.As long as your not allergic to a certain food or the food isn't stale or moldy thn their really isn't a way food can make you sick other then a stomach ache.

The only way I know how is to stick your fingers down your throat which isn't healthy. My aunt did that and she did loose weight but she gained it all back anyway so making yourself throw up isn't worth it.

And why do you want to know?

drink hot water with salt in it

Syrup of ipecac will definitely make you throw up. But why would you want to do that? Throwing up on a routine basis can weaken the cardiac sphincter muscle that stays closed to keep the food going into your stomach from coming back up. Weakening of this muscle can lead to gastric reflux, also know as GERD. This reflux of stomach acid can erode the esophagus causing ulceration and perforation which is life threatening, not to mention the constant burning pain associated with it. This reflux can also cause esophageal cancer from the constant irritation from the hydrochloric acid on the lining of the esophagus.

My recommendation would be NOT to do it. Unless of course, you want major health issues to deal with the rest of your life.

More importantly, you should seek professional help in dealing with the issues that make you feel like you need to do this.

Hope this helps. Take care my friend.

after 10 years of an eating disorder, 4 of which were spent bulimic, there is no real way to throw everything up, and you cant do it safely- trust me, its not worth it.

Your digestion can be screwed up forever, your teeth will rot, your gums will receed and your energy levels will plummet as your body works on slowing down your metablolism to conserve the parts of food that cannot be thrown up (and there are some as its impossible to throw everything up) and that stored energy will turn to fat.
Also your body in this state will retain any calories you do eat afterwards and store them in the same way.

I spent a long time throwing up and the only way I found was through strong stomach muscles, some people just can and some people just cant, its how your built.

I quit drinking last year but occasionally have a pint shandy then drink water on nights out. never been sick ever off that. Your body is only sick when it needs to get rid of stuff in your gut that doesn't belong there. You need to go and see your GP if you wanna be sick to help your ' weight problem '.

Not a good idea really is it.
