Help! Constantly tired?!
Question: I'm a top student at a top university, but my academics are now suffering from how much sleep I need. I sleep upwards of 16 hours a day...this has been going on for over a month...otherwise I feel fine--before, I slept 7 hours a day and was content. Please help--what can I do to stay awake? I'm deathly allergic to caffeine...

Try changing your diet and excercising - it helped me.
I had to sleep at least 10-11 hours a day before, but after the new diet and exercise I am now sleeping 8-9.
I work out 5 times a week at the local gym, and have changed my diet dramatically. NO fizzy drinks, sweets, potato chips etc. Replace white sugar with raw sugar. Eat wholemeal whenever you can. Drink only water and juice.
Eat vegetables and lots of protein. Give it a try - it's done wonders for me.
If that doesn't work I would suggest seeing your doctor to run some blood tests - you may have an illness that is causing you to be so tired.
you haven't done your assignments yet i think
There are a number of reasons, including depression and various diseases, that might cause you to sleep so much. The first thing that you should do would be to see your doctor about the problem.
Check your blood sugar.
