Dr Pepper causing stomach problems?!

Question: So, I'm a Dr Pepper addict. I love Dr Pepper and can drink cans and cans of it a night (I could drink maybe four a night if I was up to it) but don't do it every night. Maybe once .. whenever we have a big box of it. Recently, I've noticed I've had sudden bowel movements that make me rush to the bathroom. This is usually a few hours after I've had a Dr Pepper. I thought it was food at first, but I laid off the soda for a short while, and nothing happened. When I started drinking it again, the short bowel movements came back. It doesn't concern me that much but it just feels like the soda is causing something to trigger in my body to just say 'Hey, time for the bathroom' and I'm only in there for maybe five minutes at the most.

I'm seventeen, not very active but and am a picky eater (I don't really eat... veggies and things like that, but I've drank soda all my life, and nothing like this has happened before). Whaaaat do you suggest?

You are destroying your intestinal tract, kidneys, liver, heart and teeth. First sign is what you are experiencing. Next sign may be kidney stones which are very painful. So unless, you want irritable bowel syndrome, kidney stones and a host of other problems keep it up the sodas and not eating. I did that as a teenager and started feeling the effects like you in my early twenties. My first kidney stone snapped me out of the sodas real quick and it was health nut city from that point on.

Well it could be. I think it very well might happen if you drank 4 of any soda in a short period of time. Four sodas is about 500grams of sugar.

dr. pepper's nasty. well, as u know, scientist recently discovered that junk food is BAD and they also recently discovered that BAD is VERY BAD. so, u should stop drinking so many softdrinks. and eat like, a carrot, or something. ironically, i just finished a can of fresca.

WOW soda is bad for you so instead of drinking a whole can at a time drink a liitle then a little later and see if the problem goes away

I think you should try and lay off it after awhile. I had to because it caused me burping. And I mean MAN burps. Just try and drink less or none at all. Good luck.

I have a friend that too much pop or coffee will do that to. I don't know if the caffeine or the acidity.

For one thing, stop drinking Dr pepper, you need to think about diabetes, that much sugar at night / not good/
