PLEASE HELP lM SCARED! (ALSO TMI)?!

Question: Hi...yesterday I was prescribed an antibiotic for a bladder infection and after taking one I was SO sick to my stomach it felt like I had food poisoning, I ate some crackers and felt better. I took another pill before bed because it was time for the second one and I woke up about 3 hours later feeling even sicker than before, I took tums and that didnt help. I ran upstairs because I felt like I was going to have diarrhea and I JUST made it to the toilet and I was on there for a half hour! I also had horrible stomach cramps and I feel like throwing up.

I am going to ask my doctor what to do but its quarter to 7 am here so no one is at the office. Is this an allergic reaction or really bad side effects?

I have no allergies and have never had this happen before

This is an adverse reaction and is not harmful except, who like to puke. You pre-empt the nausea by taking some crackers or a small snack before. If it still bothers you definitly talk to your doc and get another antibiotic.

If its REALLY serious you need to get to an emergency room. You might have problems other than a bladder infection - see a doctor as soon as possible.

whoa...you should go to another doctor or an emergency room ASAP maan...

the tablets shouldn't do that to you, you might have another problem, i wouldn't take any more until you see your doctor tomorrow.

Many antibiotics have a side effect of stomach upset, diarrhea, and sometimes nausea and vomiting, that is why you always take them on a full stomach and with a full glass of water. Check with your doctor.

Go to the public emergency room ASAP and STOP taking those antibiotics just in case/ but it could be something unrelated so you should get checked out SOON!

You may not be able to take that antibiotic.
Eat some yogurt and toast to stop the digestive problems.
Don't take any more pills untill you talk to your doctor.

Your stomach doesn't like the antibiotics. Its common. Try eating a little dry toast or crackers before and after the pill. Check with the doctor for a different scrip, there may be a different one that won't be so hard on your stomach.

there could be inactive ingredients in the medicine that your allergic too. as well your may be allergic to the actuall antibiotic youve taken as well. read over your side effects and contrainditctions for the medicine and if your feeling too bad go to the emergancy room dont wait for the doc
