Question: I just went poo and there was lots of blood, so much it made the water light red. I drank last night but this has never happened before. Also, I am on Trazadone and Venlafaxine. I have not had any other heal problems other than surgery on my arm. Any help ASAP would be great

Alcohol and certain medications can cause intermittant rectal bleeding from either gut or recal area. Hemorrhoids bleeding? If not, possible lower bowel issues/problems. Since we perform colonoscopies in lab area of hospital, a visit to a gastroenterologists wouldn't hurt at all. Rectal bleeding can be caused by IBD, polyps, hemorrhoids or other bowel problems. Medicaitons, diets and healthy life styles help alleviate problems. These two meds should have not caused this amount (as you described) of rectal bleeding. If bleeding persists see DM. Don't fool around with rectal bleeding. Hope this helps? Good luck...JM/RN :O)
FYI when u r on those kinds of pills well most pills ur NOT supposed to drink!
If it happens one more time call ur doctor and make an appointment and talk to him abt it!
you could have a colon infection or something else.
