Can I make a claim for neglect against the NHS for the service they provided dur!

Question: Following the Healthcare Commission Report just published, I am considering taking some kind of action, to ensure this does not happen to other people.

I had a scan at 8 and 12 and 16 weeks, and on each of these there seemed to be a mass in the babys stomach. I asked the radiographer, and she said 'its just the bladder', 'its fine', and brushed me off. I thought everything was fine, until at the 20 week scan, we found out that my daughter had developed a mega bladder, and because it had been left to grow and grow, the bladder pressed on my daughters kidneys, which are now irreparably damaged.

I have been informed that if this had been caught earlier, my daughter could have been fitted with an amzing stent through my tummy which would drain off her urine to prevent damage to her organs.

Where do i go from here? Whats the first step?

I'm not sure I agree with suing the NHS - they're short enough on money as it is. And it won't enaure it doesn't happen to anyone else.

LAWYER!!!!

Hire a lawyer.. and you have to pay UP FRONT... so have at it.

i suggest going down to a solicitor and talking to them about it
this should be free, and here they will tell you if you have a case or not
if you do take it from there
also try reading other case notes

you should also make a complaint about the radiographer

hope it works out well
