Does pet hair affect your health?!

Question: I was wondering if pet hair affects your health. Because I have a dog with long hair and my mom won't let me keep him in my room because she is afraid that the dog's hair will harm my health while sleeping and it will get into my lungs. Is this true?

Only if you are allergic to pet dander. You won't suck pet hair into your lungs while sleeping. But maybe your Mom just doesn't want to wash the bedding, or pet hair on the bed grosses her out? Totally understandable. If you want the dog to sleep with you, offer to do the laundry.

Only if your allergic to it (ie if you get itchy watery eyes, and a stuffy nose) if you dont have any of that then I wouldnt worry about it. Maybe your mom just doesnt like the idea of sleeping with a dog!

Yes..

Some people can be allergic to pet DANDER, which is basically skin. Actually, very few people are allergic to dogs, mostly people have reactions to cat dander. The length of hair has nothing to do with anything other than showing up more on the furniture. CAUTION! If you try to use reason on a parent, make sure you are prepared for an illogical reaction,
which may cause extreme irritation and itching.
