Some side effects of smoking weed are: short term memory loss, lung cancer, fat soluable so takes longer to leave the body, it is linked to Parkinson's disease, reduced motor function, red eyes, paranoia, dry mouth, headaches. If used in moderation it can be beneficial for pain and increasing appetite for certain serious health conditions like multiple sclerosis, lupus, and helps reduce nausea in cancer patients. It can have some benefits if used appropriately and you know the source that is providing it. I had a sister who died of cancer a few years ago who smoked weed to prevent nausea and increase appetite. I have a sister with lupus whose doctor is in agreeance that the marijuana is helping her appetite. I also have a friend who smoke to help deal with pain in MS. Hope this helps.
