GET A SECOND OPINION NOW!!!! first of all I have been a dental assistant for 10+ years and have never heard of needing to pull mandibular second molars to extract impacted third molars. this is crazy. Is this a general dentist recommending this? IF SO GET TO AN ORAL SURGEON! Also, no general dentist i have worked for will even think of extracting horizontally impacted wisdom teeth they ALL refer to oral surgeon. Also, your teeth are not abnormal it is VERY common to have horizontally impacted, vertically impacted ect. wisdom teeth. The third molars (wisdom teeth) are the most common teeth in the mouth to have abnormalities. It is actually much less common to see fully erupted and well placed third molars in an adult. Good luck and NEVER let any one extract teeth that are perfectly healthy with out a second opinion.
