Question: On Wednesday i had two rrot canals and was prescribed *Calindamycin* - three tablets taken immediately and one?
tablet every six hours since then

I got diarrhea on the second day - loose stool twice a day but taken buy surprise if you know what I mean.

I am due to fly to internationally tonight and to be away in 'basic conditions' for two weeks - dentist is unavailable to talk to a it is saturday

Scared of colitis (read about it on internet) and don't want to be caught unawares while abroad.

Do I stay or do I go?

All advice on web says avoid Imodium etc but what if caught unawares on plane or on remote destination?

Answers:

Clindamycin is strong, and is most likely the cause of your stomach problems. You need to take with food, so it will not bother your stomach, or the other option is to stop taking it, since you are going to travel. It would have been better to call Dentist, and get a different antibiotic. If the teeth are not hurting, and you do not have any swelling or redness, I would stop taking it, so you can travel.

Have you talked to your pharmacist? They might have a suggestion on what can help alleviate the diarrhea. If it was me and I was worried about this I would postpone my trip until I was no longer taking the medicine. A trip like this should be enjoyed without this worrying you. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I am a mom of 2 adult kids
