Extreme pain/abcessed tooth..is it possible to have 4 roots in one tooth??please!

Question: Extreme pain/abcessed tooth..is it possible to have 4 roots in one tooth??please read!?
Hey i am currently waiting on an appointment with a specialist to get two molar teeth out..one on top left of mouth and one bottom right. The reason i was sent to a specialist is because they are so broken. They haven't caused me any pain. But today i am in absolute agony with the top left tooth. I feel a lump beside it therefore presuming it is an abcsess. I have had so many of these damn things that i know exactly what dental pain is related to what. But the thing i don't get is, i had my roots taken out of this tooth and the dentist had found 3 instead of 2. So how is it possible to have an abcess when there are no roots?? Or is there one still in there? making it FOUR! i am going to phone the dentist tomorrow because i know i'll probably need antibiotics..but i was just wondering if anyone knew what this could be..and does anyone know why someone can have so many problems with their teeth? Mine just seem to be falling apart and i am always getting infections/abscesses. I clean them as much as you should so i don't understand it. Thankyou

You said "i had my roots taken out of this tooth and the dentist had found 3 instead of 2." What this usually means is that the tooth has had a root canal or a that the nerve has been removed. SOme people refer to having had their roots out only to mean that they had the pulp in the tooth removed and maybe filled with a root canal filling. If you have the roots literally removed from a tooth there is no retention and the crown (ie whole tooth) is gone. That is an extraction. That doesn't sound like what you have had done.

That being said, it is not uncommon to have 4 roots or 4 root canals in a single tooth. I have seen it occasionally

Talk to the dentist about your diet, your medications and past history of any medication use. Deteriorating teeth in an otherwise healthy person of any age is not normal.

Toothache could often be cronic and painful. Seeing a dentist might be a way out, but in my experience, finding a natural way to cure your ache might be a much more lasting solution to toothache. you can try the 12 hour natural cure program.

Hi sarah, I know how you feel.
The back teeth can have a different number of nerves but I have had lot of work on my teeth and with time the fillings do break. So when they need a new filling the hole gets bigger and if it gets too deep the nerve is exposed and root canal is needed. Get your dentist to explain with x-rays as mine does.
I like many others have an adverse fear of the dentist which is due to a really frightening experience when I was a kid. I used to have sleepless nights and break out in cold sweats just thinking about it. That is until my friends told me about a youtube video which I related to and I got a hold of a Free Fear report which helped me to address my fear to take action.

I found a really sympathetic dentist who helped me step by step encouraging me to get the treatment I needed.

I no longer have teeth or gums problems and have got to the stage that seeing the dentist is just not such an ordeal now. This has also helped my friends and I can assure you that I was the dentist's worse patient. Not now and if you are truly phobic and afraid of the dentist get to see the video and the report is life changing.

Do not suffer any longer. Get your smile back.
All the best, and keep smiling ok?
