Help! Root extraction and root canal? :(?!

Question: Help! Root extraction and root canal? :(?
Tomorrow I am going to the dentist to have a root extraction on my tooth because I have an infection, and I'm also getting a root canal on the back molar.

I know the root canal will be somewhat painful but how will the root extraction feel?

Oh and another question, How can I calm myself down and stop being so nervous, because just thinking about sitting in my chair makes me shake :( Will the dentist let me listen to music while I am being treated?
I'm 14 by the way.

Answers:

I had a root canal done today. The most painful part was the needle at the beginning. If you do feel any pain, you can always ask for more pain medication.

As for the extraction, it mostly just felt like pressure, and if it not impacted, it should come out quickly.

I have never used the gas for any of my extractions or my root canal. I brought in my iPod and listened to music the whole time they were working away. It really helped to calm me down.

there is a type of inhalation gas to calm some patients down so you may request for that if it available at the clinic.
^ I usually allow my patients to listen to music as long as they can still hear me giving them slight instructions from time 2 time.

*remember most of the time people tend to confuse slight discomfort with pain, so just remind yourself that you're feeling a little discomfort while the extraction is being done.
Tc + treat yourself to ice cream after that extraction when all goes well =)

honey... you will feel NOTHING.. you will get a tiny little pinch when the dr give you the shot and its numb right away.. don't worry.. you won't even feel your face haha
